Sometimes it’s just plain boring to tackle a long run or bike ride alone. And sometimes a solo mission is unavoidable due to hectic schedules and previous engagements – those workout buddies of yours are so darn hard to pin down. Sometimes you want to take on the road or trail, or the gym, by yourself because let’s face it, it may be your only chance to decompress after a long day. But maybe you need a little motivation to keep you going… maybe a little Elton John?
The perfect motivation to keep that one foot moving in front of the other is often a truly great song, and even a truly bad one. Don’t lie – we all have guilty pleasures when it comes to music. Taylor Swift, anyone?
I personally like a balance of short, fast-paced songs mixed in with a few longer classics. A blend of currents and favorites. Spicing up your playlist every now and then is an excellent way to gain a fresh look on an otherwise ordinary run.
Tailor your playlist to suit your likes, and borrow a few (or all) of mine, if you dare. Either way, these tunes are sure to keep you steady, focused and eager to keep on movin’:
